In Memoriam

We have lost so many popular personalities this year. Apart from the actors Götz George (known in Germany as chief inspector Horst Schimanski from “Tatort”, 77 years) and Carlo Pedersoli (known as Bud Spencer. He celebrated great success with Terence Hill as a duo) that both died recently we also lost Prince and David Bowie.
Prince Rogers Nelson died at the age of 57. He influenced the music scene of R&B, Funk, Soul, Pop, Rock, Blues and Jazz internationally.  Just with the hit Purple Rain he was on the top of the charts for 24 weeks nonstop. He was successful with his album “Batman” as well, which was additionally the soundtrack to the film of the same name, just to name two of his successes.

David Bowie (David Robert Jones) died of liver cancer at the age of 69. The British musician, singer, producer and actor managed to launch 25 albums within 40 years of his lifetime. He also leaves a mark in the field of film music, e.g. with his music to the film “Labyrinth”.

The death of Alan Rickman was a sad surprise for many Harry Potter fans. He spent nearly 40 years of his life on stage as well as in front of the camera, beside Harry Potter he made a name for himself with films like “Das Parfüm” or “Sweeney Todd”.

All these personalities will be unforgotten in their work. They inspired people all around the world and made it a better place.
